About Me:
I have been involved with aquaculture since 1984. I started my professional career breeding barramundi on the Capricorn Coast. Trading fish for prawns, I went to Micalo Island on the Clarence River. But winter was too cold and so I headed north. I worked my way up the farm hierarchy at aquaculture ventures in Townsville, Mossman/Port Douglas and Cooktown. Cooktown knew me as the Farm Manager of Aquatec, a prawn farm of some 100 hectares under ponds on the banks of the Annan River.
After moving back to the Sunshine Coast, I started my own consultancy business and supplemented this income with a stint in the building industry and unit development. I landed a position with TAFE in 2000/2001 and, together with Mark Oliver, established the Aqualab at the Nambour campus of the then CSIT now SCT. I have been educating people about the mystic and esoteric science that is aquaculture since then.

Hi Stuart.
I watched yor vid on the sand filter you guys made. I'm looking at setting up a small home-made filter for a small re-circ system at home. What would you recommend thats easy to make and run? Is there any benefit of sand over bead?

Scott
